All my little zombie friends as well as the big ones keen on Harry Potter spent the weekend sending Harry Potter sales through the roof. According to reports, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I grossed 125.1 million from November 19-21, smashing even its own franchise record of 102.7 million for Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. This will make it the 6th biggest weekend of record. Megamind was second for this weekend with a distant 16.2 million, though this was the third week in a run that has earned 109.5 million so far.
Needless to say, these are huge numbers … largely because the Potter films play on a lot of screens, in this case a reported 4,125. That’s the power of distribution. Like if I had a dollar for every zombie lover … ha,ha, you do the math.
