Zombies have landed in the East Bay. After an amazing, packed-to-the-rafters launch at Book Passage in Corte Madera on Friday night, Stone Bridge Press will be featuring DEAD LOVE at the Solano Stroll in Albany on Sunday. Hanging out with the Stone Bridge gang will be a very special guy who will turn people into zombies right there and then. Self-described starving artist, Scott Aleric, creator of the cool strip, Hell Has Found Me, will be making zombie magic for you, so drop by and check it out.
Then, on Monday night, everyone is invited to Books, Inc. on Fourth Street in Berkeley, for another zombie gathering. Find out what to expect in this article by reviewer Anneli Rufus in the Arts and Letters section of the East Bay Express.
“This genre-bending literary supernatural thriller, which the Katharine Anne Porter Prize-winning Oakland author will discuss at Books Inc. (1760 Fourth St., Berkeley) on Monday, September 13, pulses with the lush imagery that makes McFerrin one of the Bay Area’s most popular writing teachers: One character slits another’s throat ‘with the grace of a cellist.’ Bruises are ‘large mandalas progressing from pale rose to purple.’
Also a travel writer, McFerrin drew upon memories of Tokyo, Kuala Lumpur, Amsterdam, and other exotic settings when writing Dead Love, whose characters are in constant motion around the globe.”

So don’t be a lonely zombie. You can share the DEAD LOVE, right here in the East Bay.
