If you aren’t already familiar with the Japanese manga series Zombie-Loan, created by Banri Sendo and Shibuku Ebara (Peach-Pit), and its anime adaptation, check this out.
Awkward and apologetic Kita Michiru literally stumbles across ultra-awesome Boys A and B—Chika Akatsuki and Shito Tachibana—on her way to the cafeteria. When she drops her glasses her “shinigami eyes” discern that the two boys should have died in a fatal multi-car crash. Instead, Chika and Shito have made a significant deal. In return for their lives, they must work for the Zombie-Loan office killing zombies. They lose appendages in battle, but these are all easy to replace … if you have proper financing, and that’s where the Ferryman comes in, though with his prices the boys end up paying an arm and a leg for parts.
It’s shonen manga, like Dragon Ball so the series is action-packed, funny and terminally cool. Definitely on my list of favorites and I’m betting it’ll be on yours too.
