Well, it wouldn’t be the first weeks of 2011 without thinking about the zombie apocalypse coming around next year. I was thinking about it on 1-11-11, actually, a number that is pretty weird in and of itself.
Some set the apocalypse date, or Z-Day, as 12-21-12, a number supposedly based on the Mesoamerican long count calendar, which predicts an end-of-this-world scenario at the close of the 13th in a series of cycles that began in the calendar’s start date.
Could this explain the rash of zombie books, movies, games out recently? Is our collective unconscious instinctively setting its sights on an upcoming Armageddon? Does science have the answer or will our inquisitive nature and untempered arrogance explode in a Faustian backlash and become the very cause?
For the answers to these questions and more … for the questions themselves … read The Daily Slice in the coming months. All will be answered in the DEAD LOVE sequel.
