Dead Love: Hatsune Miku Never Says Die

Dead or undead, get a life; get an avatar. One of my favorite pop musicians is Hatsune Miku. Miku has a huge following, filling stadiums with frenzied crowds of die-hard fans who adore her. I like to think of her as the new wave in entertainment because she exists in a world outside the virtual only as a 3-D hologram. She was “created” by Crypton Future Media and her voice is synthesized on Yamaha’s Vocaloid softwear using pitch and tone provided by voice actress Saki Fujita. Of course she has that schoolgirl, never-grow-old look favored by her J-pop fans. And she won’t … because she’s a virtual girl, living in a material world.

Watch her now.

Hatsune Miku … me too.
