Dead Love: Extraterrestrial Zombie Threat

The year is 1959; the director is the legendary Ed Wood; the stars are the equally legendary Bela Lugosi (he dies during the making of the film) and the ever-suckulent Vampira; the subject—you may have guessed—is zombies. Yeah!

If you haven’t seen Plan 9 from Outer Space, you are seriously missing the controversial worst film/best film marriage of aliens and zombies and evil-vampire-like masterminds.

Aliens want to stop humans from creating a doomsday weapon, so of course the only solution is to raise an undead army. They called them ghouls in early films. Now we call them zombies and although the dead by any other name will smell the same, you might enjoy the distinction … which is totally explained in Dead Love.

But back to Ed Wood and his zombie masterpiece. Here are a few of my favorite lines: Plan 9 from Outer Space.
