Dead Love at BookExpo America

The wonderful folks at Stone Bridge Press have arranged for a Dead Love signing at BEA in New York next week. In addition to receiving a free advance reader’s copy, those who show up may get a wee bit of zombie swag. The signing will take place on Thursday, 5/27/10, at Table 8 in the main autographing area, from noon-12:30pm. If you miss the slot, stop by the publisher’s shared Consortium booth to pick up a copy (if there are any left …).

Advance readers are already commenting on the novel:

I couldn’t put it down. Great ending!  Almost guessed it! But not quite…

—J.A.

With a poet’s sensibility and lapidary prose, Linda Watanabe McFerrin transcends the genre with this dark and sensual tale about a ghoul’s obsessive love for a beautiful young zombie. As its peripatetic story unwinds through gorgeously evoked locations from Tokyo to Haiti to Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur, DEAD LOVE tempts us down into its particular underworld of supernatural corpse-eaters, Haitian bokors, and Japanese yakuza, and seduces us with its dazzling, at times hallucinatory visions and its mordant humor. Linda Watanabe McFerrin does for ghouls and zombies what Anne Rice did for vampires: made them intelligent, original, fresh, unpredictable and unforgettable.

—Christi Phillips, author of The Devlin Diary

I read 20 pages before even sitting down. First impression metaphor—a silky rich sauce with a texture and edge that calls you to jam in your fork and take a big dripping mouthful.

—Richard P.

Dead Love will be released in two editions at the same time: a paperback and a deluxe hardcover with a manga insert. You can also Pre-Order the book. For details go to Buy the Book.

So, if you aren’t in the area, be sure to tell your friends to arrange to get a copy. If you are, drop by. BEA takes place Tuesday, May 25 – Thursday, May 27 at the Jacob K. Javits Center in New York, NY.
